Hi - I'm looking at the R-Strap (or equivalent) for use at festivals or otherwise long shoots (I'm a music photog) and was wondering how people use these in conjunction with camera bags or other lens holders. I currently use a neck strap and a camera bag slung across the body to my right side - exactly where I'd naturally want the camera on R-Strap to hang. I'd prefer not to get invested in a belt system or something, but am not sure how to have both the benefits of a quick strap system and access to my other zooms and primes. I suppose I could swing the bag over the other shoulder but I've tried that before and it just feels unnatural.

wondering what others have done, if anything.

I would think you either need to do the criss-cross thing or maybe use a back pack style camera bag. You could use the r-strap on same shoulder as bag, you'd just have to adjust so one rode on your hip and the other a bit higher, but I don't think that would be comfortable.

In your shoes I think I would go backpack.

Also check out cottoncarrier.com for other solutions.

Just get a FastenR-2 from Black Rapid and a karabiner to fit, then use the exisitng strap on your bag to act as the sling strap. This is basically what I have done with my sling bag.
