I shoot with a G3 camera and often i get the following problem with the raw workflow!
I open the .CRW in the canon FVU or in Breezebrowser (same result) the thumbnail display (embedded in the raw image) appearing on the screen is generally very good balanced, good colours and all, thanks to the camera!
The conversion process in "auto" or "as shoot" mode must normally give me the same result with full resolution! But it isn't!
There is a big difference in the white point balance, about 1000 degree (estimation with the colour difference with a product using degrees), the image is too cold (blue cast very visible or not depending on the image contents), it's like the parameters used by the software are not right!
I don't speak about linear or combined conversion, just doing a normal conversion!
Is the camera doing a bad measurement but compensate directly on the flight?Or it's the software not catching properly the camera parameters?
I use the last download from canon (FVU and zoombrowser).

Thanks for your help.

I get this all the time. I believe it has something to do with the G3 software. Even ACR doesn't seem to catch the WB setting and I get weird looking conversions. I'd like to know what the solution is but I fear it's a camera firmware problem, which means Canon is in denial and I'll be long past this camera by the time it's fixed (i.e. never.)

cheers,

Philip,
Right ACR doesn't catch the WB from canon camera because it's "trade secret'"! Thats the bigest problem with ACR and canon! Same with Powershovel and all products that are not using the canon tools.
But the SDK library is a software from canon, they must know where the parameters are.
