How to deal with 'RED'??

HI everyone, I'm a newcomer with 500D from Hong Kong.
Recently, I try to take photos of flowers with MACRO len.
However, I find out that the taken photos of red flowers are not really 'red' in color.
They just look like 'pink', and overexposed.
Should i set the WB of 500D to get the real 'RED'?

Are you shooting in adobe rgb? I thought I read somewhere that flowers need a bigger color gamut?
