I can not seem to get the hang of IR with my pro 1 all of my pictures turn out red why cant I get good colors. plus I have to leave the shutter open for so long that I just cant seem to get it right. any advice?

I don't know if this will help, but quoted here is a tip from Don Ellis (www.kleptograqphy.com);
The secret to escaping the magenta plague (which is interesting for only the first dozen shots and only infrequently thereafter) is to stop shooting in JPG.
1. Shoot RAW on P mode with AUTO white balance.
2. Convert to TIF in BreezeBrowser (for instance) using a CUSTOM white balance -- which is as simple as clicking the eyedropper in BB's preview screeen on anything that is a medium to dark gray (it really matters very little).
Take a look at the "sticky thread" at the beginning of this forum, which deals with infrared on the G series. I also intend to try it with my Pro1 as soon as my Hoya R72 comes in. See if shooting in raw, and adjusting the white balance hwlps, and please post back with your results.
As for the slow shutter speed, you will have to deal with that, unless you modify your camera to replace the internal IR blocking filter with clear glass.
