Well, ive kept my camera in pretty good shape for the amound of use i get, but lately i noticed dust on the inside of the viewfinder piece, it drives me crazy...do i need to send the camera in for cleaning?

Precisely where do you see the dust?

If the particles are in focus while looking through the viewfinder, the dust is probably on the focussing screen - the bottom side, just above the mirror inside the camera. If this is the case, get yourself a large squeeze-bulb blower and blow the dust off.

If the blower bulb won't remove the dust, then I would use - but not recommend - some other cleaning techniques. I know my own skill levels but won't tell others to do some of the things I would do on my own equipment.

If the dust is elsewhere, it might be a lot harder to remove. Is it necessary to remove it? Probably not, depending on where it is.
