Hello, I recently purchased my first DSLR and two lens- The T2i with an EFS 18-135mm f3.5/5.6 IS and the EF 70-300mm 4.5/5.6 DO IS USM lenses. I have an inexpensive tripod, a lens filter [that I haven't mastered yet- made pics too dark and out of focus] and small carrying bag that I want to upgrade. So far, I've used mostly automatic settings as I'm learning how to use more custom settings.
What else do I need to bring? I'm looking for a beltpack type of carrying bag that includes a waterproof cover. I also plan to purchase one extra battery. I'll be taking pics from close-ups of the local flora and fauna-too distant shots of volcanos and landscapes.
Which lens should I use as my main lens? Should I spring for a third lens [under $300]- or stick with the two I have.
Are there any other must haves I should be bringing along. Any good pocket size books out there that give simple yet useful tips for picture taking. I'm really worried about rain and moisture issues as well.
Any input appreciated. Thanks
