Magazine Cover!

So there's this Vietnamese nonprofit local magazine here in AZ. I sent them my flickr site and told them they can use my photos since I take some of local area. So for father's day issue, they decided to use one of my photo. My parents went to the supermarket today and called me, "Hey, is this you on this magazine cover?" I'm like "lol, for reals, what did the credits say?" They looked inside and saw my name and my son's.

They had asked me for a higher res, and I sent it to them and gave permission to print, granted they properly credit the photo.

Lol.. It really did cross my mind, but in reality, I'd rather have it used on a free publication rather than getting paid for it. It's a magazine that promotes Vietnamese culture. I believe it also made my parents proud that their son and grandson were on a magazine cover that they read frequently. I'm not a professional, so I told them feel free to use any of my photos for their publication. I consider it as volunteer work or at least a small contribution to help preserve and promote my culture :-)

I agree to what you did.. There are times when the warm fuzzy feeling you get helping out lasts longer than the sound of dollar bills being put into your pocket..
