Got the 135 f2, took 20 or so pictures around the house and garden! results without really trying! Unless I`ve been very lucky and taken some of my sharpest images in those twenty shots then I would say that the 135 f2 is the sharpest lens I have ever used(and that includes most of the Leica M`s and R`s) inc MF hassy and Contax stuff.
I haven`t used the Canon primes like the 300`s and 400`s which are supposed to be the bees knees but at this focal length the only lenses that ever came close was the 100 2.8 Leica R macro and the 90mm f2 Apo Leica M.
As I say maybe I`ve just taken the sharpest images of my 30 years in photography, who knows? but thank you for pushing me along that road. I`m told that the results with my 1.4 should be equally as good so we shall see. BTW I did a test shot similar to the shots from the weekend( the shed) and you can see the sharpness from viewing the monitor across the room:-)
Regards
