The 2nd of those is awesome in terms of what you shot, I like it a lot. But there is (to my eye anyway), a couple of orange looking bubbles in the spray on the right hand side.

Nice shots. The sun is giving you some nice color to work with. I would maybe try a slightly higher shutter speed, and to freeze it more, to keep the images from getting soft. You did get what seems to be perfect detail on the last one.

yeah..i see the orange dots too. It could just be the perfect angle on the sun to create them. As for the settings used on these was. f/6.3, 1/1250, ISO 200. I personally kind of like the softer look of some of the images..but i should experiment a bit more to see what the freezes are. I'm going to get a lot of practice with fast moving objects...I'm aparently also going to be the team photog for my schools alpine club.

the framing in #2 really is quite good and captures the moment extremely well. a little sharper and it would be a knock out, but still mighty fine as it is.

Being a slalom skier for life I look at his stance more than the photos....one thing that pops out is the way he holds his handle, his hands should be opposite as opposed to both holding over the top (if you know what I mean?). This will help his cutting in a BIG way......

Great shots too!

He seems to be doing fine the way he's doing it...but i'll ask him about it anyways...

he said he tried to do it with opposite hands..but it just doesn't feel right to him...and i guess that what matters if your just enjoying yourself

Was just a suggestion as he is not cutting low to the water as displayed in the pictures and a main cuase of this is the handle holding. I have done competition slalom for years, trust me :).

I know it will definitely feel weird for awhile, in fact on cuts you should be dropping the outside hand from the handle completely and pulling with the inside hand to cut lower to the water line.

Its true though, its all in the fun you are having and how serious you are about skiing, good to see he is enjoying himself! :D
