Hi, my first post here so go easy on me ;)

A few shots from the garden, first up a Red Admiral butterfly that would let me get close so I had to use my Canon 75-300 II USM

Does this count as a health breakfast for a butterfly?

Next pond skaters, these shots were taken with the 18-55mm kit lens with a +10 close up filter.

This last one is a baby, you can get an idea of its size by the duckweed next to it!

All shots were RAW and processed in Capture One Pro, cropped and scaled in PS CS1.

Andy

Hello Andy - Welcome. Excellent shots - crisp and clear. I have never really tried Raw, but will have a go when the sun comes out. You are obviously getting better weather 'over the border' than I am here! Show us more when you get them.

I normally shoot in raw just to keep the post processing options open. The weather wasn't that great to be honest, 30mins of sun at best - guess I just got lucky.

The pond skaters are always there and when we get a few days of sun I might stake out the pond and see if I can't get a shot of the Orfe taking swipes at the skaters.

I also got the shots below at the weekend but these are far from a natural setting. A mother Wolf Spider with her young clinging to her back, it was real spooky watching the young up and move around ;)
