Looks like unlimited storage for the price of 2Gb compact flash.
Use one card in camera and then download to this device......
Sounds good, no?

Yes, external drives are a lot less expensive but can you carry it in your camera bag and transfer your card to it in location without an electrical source or given you do have electricity, can you still transfer your card to it without a pc or a controller device?

As far as price, go to a site like price grabber and do a search, it'll give you a better idea of the market.

No I can't. It's quite big and somewhat heavy.

Edit: I thought it was just an external drive, didn't notice you can d/l photos...etc.

Yeah I got that in the Costco e-mail too. Just wondering if I should get that or a 4GB microdrive like I was originally planning to do. It's hard to say.

One thing that kinda ruins it for me is the fact that it can only transfer a certian amount per battery charge. And it's not a lot. So unless it has an outlet plugin (outlets for the most part are everywhere) it's a big question for me. I think I'm just going to get the 4GB card with the $200 like I had originally planned. They're only going to get cheaper.
