Came home from work with box on kitchen table. Opened up like Chrismas morning... G2 on charger now. Got it from RitzCamera.Com for 809.99.

So, question for the net. Any shakedown tests I need to perform before the 30 satisfaction policy expires?

Please post here, or to Paul at: kd6lor1@home.com

Thanks in advance.

PJ

By the way, the camera had a sheet enclosed that mentioned red streaking on the LCD panel in the event of very bright subject matter. I pointed the camera at a halogen bulb and sure enough a red streak vertically in the panel. What's up with this. Do they test each one and say "better put in the disclaimer in this one," or are they all like that?

Mine had the same sheet.

No streak on the still images. It is, as they say, a very common video thing...

If that isn't a mistype, please let me how you managed to get it for $809 from RitzCamera.com, which is advertising $899 right now.

I'm watching the prices on all the different sites, but I'd prefer to buy from a brick-and-mortar, like Good Guys, Frys, or Ritz. If RitzCamera.com has a cheaper price, I might be able to use that to bargain with a local store, or just buy from them.

I bought mine at Pictureline for $799 + 11 for 2 day shipping. They are a brick and mortar store and promptly delivered the goods.

Hey, folks........I am a steady customer of pictureline.com in Salt Lake. These folks are the most ethical I have ever encountered in business. If you visit or call ask for Jens. I have a G1 and will upgrade to the "G3" when available.
best wishes to everyone

You might consider doing a hotdead pixel test. There have been some reports on other forums about this problem. I did one on my G2 and had zero hot or dead pixels. Good luck!

Would you mind describing the hotdead pixel test. I am having shipped a G2 in a week or so and would love to find out. I also don't know which other forums have good addition info on the G2. Thanks for any info.
