Beautiful! I just got an issue of National Geographic Adventure, all about Alaska, and I don't think there was a picture in the magazine as nice as this one! Terrific job!

BTW... love your avatar! *grin*

Welcome back, James. I've missed your great photos, glad to see this one. Hope your absence has been due to fun stuff, not work.

Reigh, Raj, and Stan: Nice to talk to you guys again. I've been visiting the forum but just not very active. Sometimes I do the G-Series POTN contests.

Sandy: :) :) :) .

Lonnie: The elevation of the pond is about 1900 ft. The elevation of the mountain is 20,320 ft. For those of you who think in meters that's ...uhhh.... well you'll have to do the math.

BeccaNH: Thanks. BTW, I like your avatar too!

kenyc: Thanks, that's an informative link.

To everyone else: Thanks for the kind comments. I appreciate it. It's really a lucky day when you can go to Denali National Park on a blue sky day.

Wow, I expected the elevation at the pond to be much more than that. The mountain just doesn't look that tall to me in this picture.

Beautiful capture. I have a friend who lives about 50 miles from Denali. I hope to visit someday.

Well, I'm estimating the elevation of the pond but I think I'm pretty close. The mountain is approximately 30 miles away.
