Ok this may read like many other similar posting eher but, kindly continue and help
Today is happens to be my Day 2 with the installation and yet no light of hope.

When ever I try access the Camera via Twain interface I am shown the message saying UNABLE to DETECT
I tried installing the complete Canon software suite and also just the TWAIN drivers [both from the drivers on the CD and on the Canon site]. The system always detects the USB device and instaalls the correct drivers too but still the software interface in unable to detect ne.

I tried using ZoomBrowser and IrfanView and The Downloder but every app gives the same eror message

At the same time the system device manager shows the A40 under the Imaging and Camera group

Using the A 40 installation on my other Windows 98 machine was like a breeze and I was up and running in mins. But the Windows 2000 system I still can make it work WHY!!!!!!

Error Message - Cannot detect camera, check connections to camera then retry.
Canon - A40
Driver Ver - 4.1.0.7
Connection - USB
OS Windows 2000 Profesional
Motherboard - Intel 815

P.S. Other USB devices like my other cam, webcam and palm work perfectly on the Windows 2000 machine

Great to hear :)

Reason I knew about this was I'd stopped that service as well during one of my "clamp downs" and my new IXUS 400 wouldn't work.

Cheers
