Motocross Practice Track

Hi,
First posts on this forum for me and looking to improve over time with some help :). These are from my local motocross track where i go every Sunday and are all taken on a 20D with 70 to 200 IS.Was slightly overcast most of the day and am not to sure if flash would help on some of the images or even if you are aloud to use it at events.Would not want to be trying to see the track after someone let a flash of in my face personally so i dont really want to use one.

Nothing wrong with using flash at an MX race. They are used all the time in Supercross events, and look how close a photographer stands in a confined stadium.


If you look at the pics in the attached link, they were all taken using flash on a very dull and rainy weekend.

I would say you have one of two options.
Bump that ISO&shutter up and stop action, or convey action and drop your shutter a little more and pan.

Thanks Bosscat and GMosher was not to sure about the flash but wiil have a go next weekend,love the pictures in the link aswell.Need to find a better way of resizing the pics for posting aswell as they have lost loads of quality by resizing.Thanks once again.

Get yourself a diffuser though. It will help alot, from what I have seen.

Have one on order myself.
