Hello,
A long time ago I saw a little plate that mounted to a camera mount on a tripod, then you mounted your camera onto the plate. The plate rotated. I should have asked the fellow where he obtained it.
While it was a seemingly monkey set up, it was superior to a panning base ball head due to the fact that it didn't matter if your tripod was level, if you leveled the camera with the ball, it would rotate level.
I want to try some panoramic photos, with out having to purchase a new tripod (as I don't think the head comes off of the one I currently have, a different thread) or head.
Has anyone ever seen one of these? I found one at B&H, but it is quite expensive, and obviously for someone far beyond my abilities with degree markings, quick releases ect. I am looking for just a spinning do-dad to experiment a little.

Anyone seen anything like this?
