Hi
Can anyone tell me how I can 'clean up' the background in this picture of my daughter? We don't get many pictures of her looking at the camera so I'd like to do something with this one
Thanks

Lovely girl and photo. I would leave the background as it is and it's not distracting but maybe just add some more contrast and perhaps change to BW.

Thank you, she is a lovely girl! Have tried it in B&W but think I prefer the colours.

If it was me, I'd crop into portrait format, which would get rid of a lot of the 'empty' background.

That's lovely - cropping into portrait sounds like a good idea but I agree its not distracting!

Its not distracting to me at all, but if you have photoshop make a dupe layer, set it to screen which will lighten everything. Adjust the opacity til you like it, then do a layer mask to bring her back in unaltered.

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions, I think I'll play about with it a bit more. Not sure I like it in portrait, for some reason just doesn't look right, but I'll give it a try and look at it for a while before making my mind up!
Thanks again.

What is it that you don't like? It looks fine - it looks just like what it is, your little girl laying on a bed.
