Hi. Not sure where to post this, so I'll post it here. I have used Photoshop7, Picassa etc to automate web galleries, and then edit the html and css to fit the look and feel into my site.

I am looking for software, however, that is a bit more customizable than what I have used in the past. I'd like software that I can input more customized preferences as to how the gallery pages are outputted, so I don't always have to edit the html so much after. Short of programming something myself, does anybody have recommendations for better web gallery software? Does PS CS2 offer better functionality in this regard than PS7?

There's Exhibit Engine ( http://www.photography-on-the.net/ee ) which has it's own forum section ( http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=16 ) - written /maintained by Pekka.

What you may benefit from (if Exhibit Engine isn't to your liking) is a Content Management (Blog) app that you can customize the look of and then post your images as entries. Expresion Engine (http://pmachine.com) has a gallery module, then there's Pixelpost (http://www,pixelpost.org - Blinking8s on this forum is involved heavily with this one) or Folderblog (http://www.folderblog.org) which are solely for image galleries....

These are just three I've played with - am still looking/playing and trying to decide! :-s

I just installed emgallery, ( http://www.emalbum.com/ ) it was a snap, others probably have more features, but it's working fine for my uses.

See it in action at my site: http://www.kacweb.com/cgibin/emAlbum.cgi
