I'm looking for a stand that would place a camera in down position. Something that would help with macro pictures.
I want to document my coin collection, and would be nice if I was able to just place the coin, take the picture with capture software.
I don't want to spend a fortune on it, I found one once but it was over 300 bucks, I'm looking for $100 max.

Why not just a tripod and a level? That's what I use.

My Manfrotto has dual mounting post, so I just put the head on the bottom. Then all you need is a hot shoe double bubble level (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/419395-REG/Jobu_Design_LVL_PL_2_Axis_Flash_Hot.html).

Something else you might consider is to buy a used enlarger, and remove the chassis from the stand...the mount for the chassis can be used to mount a camera vertically, and is easily adjusted to different height for different magnificatio macro work. Enlargers can be had for a very low price, since digital caused interest to wane.

How about a DYI copy stand. Looks to be no more than a few bucks worth of parts.
