First you have to reduce them to under 100kb in photo shop. Magnify your picture to 100%, reduce it to 800 or 600 pixels on the long end, then save it. When you save it, adjust the quality till it tells you it's below 100kb.

Then, go on here, start your thread and under advanced click "Manage Attachments" it'll allow you up to two at a time. Just click browse, find your file, click upload, then click close, and post it.

Welcome to the forum!

How do you adjust quality? I was resizing a pic for an avatar a while ago and no matter how small I made it, it wouldn't go under 6kb, which was the maximum the forum would allow (a different forum than this). I eventually had the darn thing something unrecognizably small and it still wasn't small enough, lol

After resizing it, you go to save as, save the file to another folder or different name, then after that a little window should pop up that allows you to adjust the quality on a scale of 1-12. As you move the slider, it'll show you at the bottom how large the file will be. Then ya just move it around until it's under 100kb.

As for the avatar, I've been having the same exact problem! That's why I don't have one... Even if it says 1kb, the forum says it's over the limit for some reason.

For creating an avatar:

If you use Windows XP, there is a free PowerTool that resizes photos very easily.

Umm....if you're saving in photoshop, don't "Save as" use "Save for web" (or use the shortcut, Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S) There's a slider that lets you gradually reduce the quality/size of your pic, or you can use the flyout menu (the little triangle about 1/4 of the way down on the right, right above the "optimize" check box) and select "Optimize for file size." Then type in 99 k (or whatever) and it's all done for you.

hope this helps...
