This is my first posting of my pics on here. Well these are my first attempt, a little dissapointed TBH a little over exposed but hey learn from your mistakes and all that :( I forgot my tripod for starters so they are all hand held on 1/100 shutter speed. Im a newbie to SLR world, used my 300d with a 75-300mm zoom lense. Any comments on improvement most welcomed, thanks for looking.
These were shot at Bug Jam at santa pod a week ago.

Yes, you're right; the exposure is way off. Your panning technique looks pretty good though, so stick at it! :)
p.s. keep forgetting the tripod. If you turn up with one at a race track or even a drag strip like Pod... experienced photographers will point at you and laugh ;) Tripods and motorsport don't go together.

Yeah i'm not big on using any type of pod for drag racing photography. I prefer hand held. But then again i'm normally on the wall and move around quite abit.
Your getting there, just a matter of practice practice practice and play with the settings.

It looks good. I did drag racing a few weeks ago and it's hard, especially with 8 second cars which I was shooting. Your exposure is a little high though, but that's about it. Keep up the good work and post more quarter mile shots.

Good start. It's hard starting out.
I have personally never used a monopod or a tripod for automotive shots....i keep meaning to, but never manage to remember.

Are you shooting in RAW? You could adjust the exposure in RAW editor then :) Your panning looks good though
