Sandisk Extreme 2gig for 20D: anyone use?

Rob Galbraith's comparison listing here (http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007-7303) indicates that the Sandisk Extreme III is the fastest 2gig card you can get for the 20D. Anyone have this card? Do you like it? Any issues?

Photofinish - The Sandisk EXTREME III CF cads are very good cards to use in your 20 D. I have the 2 Gb EXTREME III in use with my 20 D and it works
without problems. You have a lifetime warranty on it as well, if I'm not mistaken, or at least for 10 years they will change it if it ever goes down on you.

The only issue I had with this CF card, when I just bought it, was the fact that it is not faster as standard CF cards in your 20 D.
At first i tought it was the CF card but it's the 20 D that is not supporting a faster wright speed to faster CF cards.

If you buy a EXTREME III CF card you have the best of the best in CF cards technology today. But if you are buying it and hoping
to achieve a greater speed in your camera (shooting bursts as I did) then any normal (cheaper) CF card wil do the job.
The only speed improvment you will get is when you are dowloading the pictures to your computer with a card reader.

I thought writing quicker would make for better burst shooting.

Jim - The problem is not the speed of the EXTREME CF card. The problem is that the 20 D can not wright faster to the card.
Even when tomorrow we would have much faster cards, the 20 D can not take advantage of this speed because the camera has the
same low wright speed. Rob Galbraith is right when he says the CF EXTREME is faster. To bad that the camera don't take advantage of this speed.
But when downloading to a computer with a faster card you wil see that your images will be transferd faster to the harddrive.
And now that we have the new faster cardreaders from Sandisk for the EXTREME III cards, like Lostdoggy mentioned, transferring the images would go even faster.

The speed rate in burst tmde has more to do with the buffer memoy then the CFs ability to accept the write. Buffer memory is like the L1 & L2 Cache on a CPU. Where typical DDR2 memory might have a clock rate of say 533MHZ it is still not fast enough to feed the CPU to bridge the speed gap cache memory is implamented in the CPU design to maintain the difference. Todays CPU at least in PC are around 3.6GHZ. Last I've saw it was up to 3.8GHZ.

I'm confused. Does the Rob Galbraith page not show the calculated speed of writing shots to the card when it is installed in the 20D? The Extreme III therefore does give an advantage in the 20D, as do other "faster" cards. Of course even if these cards didn't perform better in the camera it's still nice to be able to download the shots quicker using a card-reader - and newer Canon's will perhaps give better support for write-acceleration.

I have two Sandisk EIII 2GB CF cards and have never regretted the purchase. They are definitely faster when downloading to the computer and that alone makes them worth the price to me. When newer cameras come out with faster write speeds, etc., then these cards will still be worth keeping and using versus the slower and cheaper $99 cards.

I use Sandisk Ultra II 2Gb and working awesome, even so I shot RAW all the time, so extreme will be just a little faster

That is a little optimistic....I have the Kingston Pro Elite and the Sandisk Ultra II. They are both great cards with the Sandisk being slightly faster. Both are fast enough and you are right about the Kingston being cheap, especially when buy.com had the 1GB this week for $45.
