I know there are a few posts going around about the Lexar CF card 'problems', but thought I would share my experience with you all.

I rather reluctantly sent my 2 x 512Mb cards off to Lexar (UK) on Friday afternoon by recorded delivery. Reluctantly, because I have heard about the time taken to replace them from other posts, and also the fact that I had no problems with them.
They were received (or rather, they were signed for) on Tuesday morning.
Today (Wednesday) a 3 foot by 2 foot (I'm not joking!!) plastic package arrived via Business Post containing a small 'jiffy' bag with 2 new replacement cards (Well, they look new and are not my originals, they had my postcode on them)

That seems pretty good service to me - Maybe the initial 'rush' is over and they are just sending out replacements by return of post.

Lets hope they work :D :D

Maybe I was lucky, I hope you get yours back as quick - I sent mine by recorded delivery, although this only insures you for £30 I knew they had received them ok.
For a 2Gb card it might be a good idea to send it with better insurance cover - I know it is going to cost you money (I'm sure Lexar won't pay for it :D ) but at least you will get your money back in the event of it getting 'lost in the post'.
The 'new' ones even had the 'free' software on them for image recovery - and yes, they do work ok!

The first card I sent shortly after the recall took about two weeks. In fact for at least the first week they were testing the fix and not sending cards out.

The second card came back in under a week.

I've just taken 59 images on a supposed good (replaced) Lexar 80x 4GB card. I reviewed the images with my customers and they looked great, they were very pleased! When I loaded the card into the card reader and downloaded the pics...... yes you've guessed it, no pics taken today, just all the pics taken the previous day which I erased from the card before shooting. What is going on. When you fork out the cash for a CANON 1DS MK II you expect quality. I now have to redo the shoot at my cost and have some very angry customers. Has anyone had the same problem? I have never had the 'lock up' problem people are talking about, just complete images disappearing. I wouldn't have minded if some had disappeared! but not all. Please help.

Cheers, Ivan
