I did a photo essay (for fun) here is what I got. All pictures are clickable and are made small in memory in consideration of 56Kers. You can see my entire essay here, picturetaker.co.nr/ranch (http://members.shaw.ca/cmwebsites/PictureTaker/Page/Ranch.htm). It consists of 24 pictures and a short story here are twelve of them. Any comments are welcomed. Thanks.

Really nice Christopher. I love (and take lots of) these kinds of shots.

Great work. If you are interested in this sort of thing check out
Joanne Hodge's gallery at http://www.pbase.com/gallery?gallery_id=53098
seeing her shots is what got me back into photography after many years away (well and digital slr's
finally dropping in price to an almost reasonable point :) ).

Keep up the great work.

(well and digital slr's
finally dropping in price to an almost reasonable point :) ). LOL almost reasonable, I like that :) Yeah that's the only reason I have not bought one yet is the price, not that I couldn't but because my Elan 7 4 years ago cost about $800 + $200 for the grip and I have not got all the use out of it.

Glad you liked my pictures. Was out shooting with the bugs for about 2 hours, used my entire memory card (first time for that) and it was hot.

About the same deal for me, I bought a Minolta 800si and couple of lenses about four years ago.....I wasn't using it/them though because of the cost of processing and the less than instant gratification and feedback. I love digital!

Best part of shooting that area was the lack of those tiny vampires called Mosquitos there were very little. I took about 250 pictures. While half of them turned out great I couldn't use them all. Next time I go there I am harvesting a few things from that ghost town. Mainly because in less then 10 years houses will be built very close to that place and it will be torn down. If the barn door is still solid I will take that and make a desk out of it. Cause hey, how many people do you know with a barn door desk? :)
