Can I bring the Canon 7D & 70-200mm IS II lens to Indy 500 race ?

Has anyone brought this lens on the grandstand ?

This is the list of permissible items post on honda site

The following items may be brought onto the race grounds but will be subject to inspection by event staff and security:

Binoculars, scanners, and cameras with small case
Camera stands (tripods, monopods, etc.) are allowed on the grounds as long as they do not obstruct the view of others; such equipment is not to be used in the grandstands
Purses, backpacks and other small bags
Recognized mobility aids used by guests with disabilities are permitted. Guests are advised to bring a lock to chain wheelchairs and scooters underneath the grandstands
Seat cushions
Strollers
Umbrellas may be used as long as they do not obstruct the view of others.
All items are brought on site at your own risk. Honda Indy Toronto staff and security are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items.

Writing as someone who has attended the Indianapolis 500 since 1972, and has taken cameras to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ranging from a Polaroid 700 to a Canon XTi, there's very little chance that anyone will object to you bringing any sort of camera to the track. It's not unusual to see people carrying monopod-mounted 500mm lenses.

No one would give a second thought to a person with a 7D and a 70-200mm IS II, because DSLR's are very, very common things for fans to carry at the Speedway.

This guy is not going to the Indy 500. He is attending the street race in downtown Toronto. What the policy in the stands is today is beyond me as far as cameras and telephoto lenses.
