I came upon the Vaillancourt Fountain in San Fracisco, CA, one day and the water had all been emptied out. Most of the shots that I see of the fountain get the overall shape from the outside. I took this as an opportunity to climb into the fountain to get a unique vantage point of this twisted mess of a concrete landmark.

You can read more about it on my blog @ http://anvilimage.com/2010/07/01/entering-the-concrete-jungle/

Thanks! The texture is what really attracted me to create the image as well as the architecture itself!

Joe nice work there. Do you have any more images of this? I would love to see more. Is that the Midway museum on your site?

@jimz66: I shot a lot of stuff that day back in November 09, so I went back through my files and found some other images that I need to process. Thanks for reminding me to check!

That shot of the captain's chair is from the USS Hornet berthed in Alameda, CA. More about the shot here: http://anvilimage.com/2009/01/22/o-captain-my-captain/

Nice, I like the old vs. new effect. I love the fact that everything is in focus.
