This is one of our larger Damselflies in Austin, Texas this is my first post over here but I am not new to posting images online or giving or taking critiques. This image was taken at our local Botanical Gardens here.

10d, shutter 1/400, Sigma 50-500 @ 500 + 68mm ext tubes, f/8, ISO 400, exposure comp -1, flash comp -2, tripod support, full frame

very nice photo, Its a shame trying to get a good DOF is so hard on these. Especially on the body. The colors are excellent.

That's a very nice shot and a novel way to use the bigma. How far away were you?

Thanks and That question would be a lot easier to answer if Sigma lenses would return info for distance but they don't, Estimating it I would have put is about 6-7 foot at the most maybe less but this is a large damselfly almost twice the size of some still smaller in length then most dragonflys. The bigma with Ext tubes on at 500mm and minimum focus distance isn't macro but it's getting mighty close :)

Very nice image and great colours Eric. What type of extension tubes are you using? I'm thinking about getting some for my 50-500 and the 70-200.

Thanks all on the critiques thus far and to answer your question I use the Kenkos they have been very reliable and work great so far no connection problems as I have heard some Nikon users have had.
