Here's another car I shot for Strasse, I realized I've gotten fairly behind on posting up shoots on the forums because I haven't been online much lately, so I'll start playing catch up lol

This BMW 5 series is dropped on a set of color matched 20" Strasse S8s, staggered widths, and has a rare Brayton front lip that you pretty much never see on these cars. I love the clean, simple look of the car!

Let me know what you guys think!

They look OK, but I really wish you'd find some inspiration in MHO's shot: Photochoped Audi S5 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=753614)

You have weeds growing out of the hood in several shots.

You're doing a good work with your xti.

With all the respect PhotoGuys in my honest opinion these photos are just near perfection instead of just "OK". The lightning is really perfect - not annoying dark and not too much, the Audi with the amateur PS skills there in the link was really bad and no where near for the inspiration as the car was cut out in 2 minutes and not carefully; and the background was chosen, not the real one. But that's just my opinion!

Yeah, the cutout kind of makes it hard to give a good critique : /

Anyhow I wouldn't say these shots are near perfection, but definately awesome shots! Great job Raymond. Love the behind the scenes. And using an XTi?...WOW! I like #5 and #7.

As long as you're bringing up exposure. This series has half a dozen hot spots (over exposure).

As I feel with some of your recent work, I still think you are blowing the whites a tad bit too much with the strobes. In particular with shots 1, 3, and 7. As others have stated I am uncertain how I feel about the location, definitely does not make or break the photo, but in some of the shots it is rather distracting with the few weeds you see sticking out. Most importantly for me though, the biggest thing lacking from all of these images is a better composition. The car sits in almost the exact middle of the frame in a lot of these images, I would like to see a bit more creativity with positioning and angles.

But that's just my opinion! Ignore the PS skills & the cut out job & look at how the light illuminates the curves in the body & gives it shape. You can see that starting to happen in #5 & 8 above, but #4 could be painted with flat white on a slab of cardboard.

Yes, these shots are well exposed "not annoying dark and not too much,", but perfect exposure wasn't the point of my comment.

That's a horrible photoshop, no offense lol

Yeah, I forgot the weed wacker, sorry!

Thanks!

I don't think they're that bad, plenty of detail in the body IMO.

I feel you on the composition, I've noticed that lately with my shots too, I focus so much on making the wheels the main focal point of all the shots that I forget about trying different positions with the car and whatnot. Pretty sure I've got a shoot on Friday so I'll make sure I try to mix things up a bit for once.

That's a horrible photoshop, no offense lol No argument from me there, & he says so himself in the first post. But if your wife/GF had fish on her breath, would you ignore her when she whispered in your ear? ;) Pretty sure I've got a shoot on Friday so I'll make sure I try to mix things up a bit for once. Good luck with it.

I totally understand where you are coming from. Sometimes I focus so much on the client and their needs, that I completely have mental lapses towards some fundamentals. Good luck with your shoot on Friday, and we should definitely meet one day and have a shoot together!

The 3rd is my favorite except for the plants coming out of the hood, don't know if you could have relocated or not to avoid that. Nice car.

Not really directed at the OP just a general question. How do you avoid getting the two different color whites? is it a white balance thing or is it just the strobes not on that part of the car?

The front end looks like its off white and the side looks super white.

Yeah I had the Alienbees blasting the side of the car, and only a 580EXII on the front, so since the side got a bit blown out it looks more "super white" than the front does. I don't mind it too much on white cars because it gives it a little contrast but yeah it does result in the colors looking off a bit.

Its give or take, when does a car roll down the road looking equally lighted anyways.
