I was curious as to how often you guys get out to shoot? I'm a budding hobbyist (about 5 months in) and I'm noticing that I've taken most of the shots I can within a 2 mile radius of my house. I'm going to have to start venturing out some more to get new subjects. How / how often do you guys tackle this issue?

Man, I used to shoot every single day of the week. I switched jobs and moved... I've barely shot anything in a while now. Mostly from a lack of time, but the few times I have picked up my camera I don't really feel inspired like I used to.
I'm ordering new gear now, hoping that fixes the issue :D

I started a 2nd business that gets me shooting 3 weekends a month usually. I also keep a 20d and an older lens in my car with me at all times. The few times I've taken it out are the times I always pass a great photo opportunity.

How do you tackle what issue? If you mean how do I tackle the issue of shooting everything within a two mile radius of my house, well then, I just drive a little further! ;)
I comb the internet for things within reasonable drives around me, I shoot some stuff professionally which gives me people to shoot, and I look around. A lot of photography is not about what you shoot, but how you shoot it, and in what light. Taking the ordinary and making it exceptional and interesting in a photo is just as interesting, to me, as taking a great photo of a great subject.
Photography is about seeing, and that has nothing to do with where you are or how far you drive to find stuff to shoot.
