Hello~ i am trying to get some opinions as to what lens i should get for my canon rebel. i am a total newbie to photography, but i have my kiddos and family that i like to get some go pictures of. I got a canon rebel kit with the 18-55 lens, and wouldn't ya know it, but i tripped and fell and the lens is no longer in one piece. i do have a 75-300 but i would like to get one to get close ups of the kiddos. we also go to fish hatcheries and zoo like places frequently, so it would be nice to have something be able to do both. since i do have the longer zoom lens, that is not my most important aspect. i want one where i can get good pictures of kids in the house, playing outside, and of our animals. i have tried to read and pick ONE, but everytime i read different posts, i can never decide. so, i thought i would ask for help from you all from the list i have narrowed it down to. again, i want close ups:
my choices are : sigma 18-250; sigma 10-20, canon 18-55, canon 17-40,Canon EF 85 mm f/1.8 USM Medium Telephoto Lens, Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM or the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens .
any guidance they you may give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
