I´m heading for a macro lens. Has anybody experience with the 3,5/180 Macro L USM? Sample pictures, etc...
I would appreciate any input.

Don't really know that lens. What are you going to shoot? I've got a Canon 10D (just sold my D60) and use a Canon 50mm f/2.5 macro. Given the focal length multiplier it ends up an 80mm. That 180 would end up a 288mm. Sounds awfully long. I like the results with the 50mm but I'm not sure how to post on this site.

I'd go for the 100mm 2.8 macro. It's not an L but, it could have been.

It is my favorite piece of Canon glass!
The 180mm macro is tack sharp and has great contrast! The AF is slow and inconsistent in low light, but you use MF for macro work anyway.
Cheers,
