I've got my first shoot this Friday with a little girl who just turned 1. I mentioned some ideas I had, and her mom said she was up for anything. I know she wants some pics outside, but i also have a small studio set up with white, black and gray backgrounds. If you have any one year old pic ideas...please share. I would love to see some sample pics if you have any, just to gather more ideas. Also...if i were to do a "cake smash" shoot, does the parent provide the cake or do I. how about balloons, and a hat? Do you usually provide that kind of stuff. Just curious.

Thanks for any advice you can give. Also, how do you ask a client if they mind if you use a pic on your website? I've just created a website and I need more samples, so I would really love to use some from this shoot. Do I need to get her to sign something? Thanks again.

I probably should not answer this as there are those much more qualified than I.
IMO...unless the subject actually requests something......props are the photographer's responsibility....especially in a studio environment.
The pics you take are yours.....you have all rights to them. I would mention that you are posting them....no names or ties to the family though.
I don't have any pics of young ones like this.

Be careful with providing a cake, make sure its ok with the parents as a child may have allergies. Ask them would they like you to provide a cake or would they like to bring their own. Also, for a cake, Id use white seamless paper lol
