Being an ardent Pro1 user, IMHO, I think you have thrown the baby away with the bath water. Thanks for the comparisions - nice pictures.

Not to knock any camera but I believe you will love the DSLR over the point and shoot once you adjust and get more lenses. You could add an extension tube to the lens and get even closer but you will have to learn your DOF as the pro 1 will have much more DOF then the DSLR will which you will or should find very useful in blurring out backgrounds and such.

i think you will need to spend more $ to get what you got with the pro1,nice shots.

Yes i know, i will need more lenses. My next lens will be the Sigma 70-300 APO DG. Then after that, probably a nice macro lens.

Btw, what is a nice macro lens? Not too expensive, i don't have the money to spend right now. I want a lens that gets a 1:1 ratio, and that i can get a really nice close up of things...

And, thanks for the comments.

When you say not a lot of money you need to help us here a little with a $ amount. Sigma's macros are all good, Tamron's is also good, the bigger the MMs on the lens the more working distance you will have but then you also will have more money tied up in one. The glass is a very important aspect to photography along with composition and such. How large/small are your subjects going to be?

budget, would be not more than $200 US. As for the 70-300mm that im going to get, its about 210 which is still OK. For a macro lens, i don't know prices, but i dont want to spend more than 200. School is starting soon, and books are going to be expensive.
