So I found a lens on adorama for a really good price. But it's a "G" Condition which means.

Appears to have been used very heavily with multiple dings, scrapes, scratches and heavy brassing. Glass may have fungus, excessive dust and/or scratches that can affect picture quality.

Has anyone else bought something that was a G from adorama that can tell me what kind of shape it was in?

I haven't bought anything, but I can't say I would either.

No experience but good grief how can they call that description "G" (presumably for "good"?) condition?

I've often wondered why they call that "good". KEH at least calls lenses like that UG for ugly!

I don't see how you could buy one sight unseen because it could range from a dent and brassing -which would probably still be functional, to scratched glass and fungus.

V or E- is, imo, the lowest you want to go.

those categories just refer to cosmetic damage, but a still perfectly functioning product.

My apologies that I missed this query, but thought it would be worth posting a reminder that I can arrange for pictures of any used item to be emailed; and of course, all used units come with a 90-day warranty - which includes a 14-day money-back guarantee.
