Date Time Reseting on 20D

Dear All,

I have problem with my new 20D. The Date n Time is always reseting after I remove the main battery for charging. I even changed the CR2016 to a new one, thinking that the old one maybe is not full. But the same thing, date time still reseting after I remove the main battery. Please advice.....

Cobramania - You can try several things to solve your problem:

1) Be shure that the new CR2016 is NEW and not one that is laying around for years.

2) Before you insert the battery in the holder be shure that it's placed in the right way.
Polarity has to be correct.

3) Before you insert the battery in the holder wipe it clean with a cloth. Both the surfaces
and the outer ring of the battery, because it's on the outer ring that it makes contact
at one side. Don't touch the battery contacts with your fingers after cleaning.

4) Take a little plastic screwdriver, or something like that, (NO METAL TOOLS) and wrap
a cloth on it and clean the in camera contacts before reinserting the battery with the
battery holder.

If this don't help then you have to take your camera to a Canon Service center.

This is crazy man......The polarity of the battery is upside down since from the store...can you imagine that. I even called 2 other stores here to check up with their new 20D. They said that they all have the same problem with me........
After I flip the battery, the problem is gone............
