If I shoot some photos in the Raw Mode with my Canon D60 and I want to just hand the disk to another person to download and manipulate, do they need to have Canon's Zoombrowser software? What if I shoot in Jpeg mode, can they download them without Zoombrowser . . . What does the other person need on their computer since I just want to do the shooting and hand it off?

The best thing to use would be Downloader from www.breezesys.com to move pix from CF to PC, and BreezeBrowser will allow them to browse raw or JPG plus all the other stuff it does including conversion, if they are going to edit the images.

BayAreaPhotog ,

As far as downloading from the Compact Flash (CF), all the other person needs is a CF reader (with the approriate driver) hooked up to their computer. That way, the computer just "sees" the CF reader with the CF mounted as another drive on the machine. The other person can then just "drag and drop" the files where he wants them just like any other files on his machine; he can transfer the photo files to his own hard drive. Once the files are on his machine, he could then edit those JPEG pics on his machine. He'll have to have a Raw converter if you want him to manipulate and look at the Raw files. That's easy enough with BreezeBrowser or any other converter.
