Yes, I know.... another sunset. And I know that it isn't as good as all of the others - but I fell in love with the cloud that runs up the frame on the right hand side of the shot.... what do you thinK?

Well, I think that the colors and offsets are beautiful and refreshing -- not just the usual solid red and orange. Is this a sign that winter is on its way to Oz?
Even so, I have now decided that more is needed on sunsets such as this one. You see, I feel that if you image exclude the beauty of the sun's color for a moment, what are you left with ?
ANSWER: Sunlight, sky and water. Now that is an easy shot to take, but it lacks any core subject or vision. And, if that was indeed the shot you had taken, that I think that you too would agree that stronger subject was needed.
And so, I think that the challenge is to add a natural or human subject to all such sunset scenes.
- Perhaps a surfer exiting the water or something.
- Along this line, Marie's recent "Peace" seems to fit the bill,
- Henk Bos shot of a sunball alongside a minaret, and
- one of your Aussie colleages included a couple sharing a pop at the beach.
Still friends !?

Howie - we will always be friends!! The only way for me to learn how to take better photos is by all of the fantastic input you all give me!!
I kind of agree with you on adding another element to the shot, but didn't want to stuff around and miss what I really wanted - primarily the sunset and that fantastic cloud formation up the right hand side of the photo.... it just really appealed to me :)
still friends ??
