Here's a couple shots of the members of the rock group Slaughter. Funny thing is, I couldn't manage a decent shot of the band's namesake, Mark Slaughter.
You can read my rant about the show's promoter in this thread. Some people... (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=90458)

Love the first one. What sort of metal do they play??

I wouldn't really call it metal. More of a hard rock/power ballads. Fairly radio friendly.
They were kinda big here in the states in the early 90's.

Love the first one and the third, but does that drummer keep his beer on the drum head? It looks like there is a spray of a beery kind coming up from the drum! :-)

Glad you like these Dwight. I aspire to create the sort of images I've seen you produce.
The liquid coming off the drum is water. Just moments earlier the singer poured some water over the drum head. I really liked the effect.
This was a moment for the 20D's 5fps burst mode. When I saw the singer pouring the water, I knew what was up. I waited for him to get out of the frame and blasted some 12 or so shots as the drummer started pounding. Got lucky on this one as the drumstick has just hit and the spray is coming up.
Also, the first one is evidence of the usability of the 20D's 3200 ISO. The player had moved forward on the stage out of the light and I cranked up the ISO in hopes of something usable. When he moved back into the light, I forgot to reset the ISO down.

Hey, very nice photos, but that drummer is not Blas Elias. That is Timothy DiDuro, he's the current drummer of Slaughter.

Number one would be a framer if your crop was a few mm wider to get the headstock in IMO.
Awesome work.

Here are a couple of pics of Mike Slaughter, while at Penn's Peak, Jim Thorpe, PA, back in the fall of 2006...

Yeah, i agree with your original pic.
The original is FAR better with respect to image quality.
The headstock would be nice, but meh :D

My apologies. I'm really not a fan of the band, but was there for the local opening act and took advantage of the opportunity. I found the name from the Slaughter website and made an assumption.
These pictures are currently receiving attention from a designer doing some concert advertising for the band. Possible deal in the works.
Nice shots John. Dana Strum is such a showman.
Thanks for the kind words everybody.

Run with it Tom... If the promoters work a deal out for you, that would be great... (Unfortunately, my venue can't always work me into their exclusive band deals...) And yes, Dana certainly likes to ham it up...and as long as it looks good that's just fine with me and everyone else...
The drummer, whose name I don't know, is the same guy in my pic from the fall of '06, as in your's from the previous year... He grew a 'stache and has the same tats...
