COMPACT FLASH DISK - MALFUNCTION (20D)

CPD went in halfway and stuck (20D). Unable to retrieve disk. Has anyone experience this problem. If so, please advise how to fix this problem other than sending camera to Canon for repair? THANKS.

Two possibilities -
1) you put it in backwards
2) there's a bent pin in the camera.

Is there enough of the card exposed for you to get a finger grip on it? If so, try pulling with more force. Depending on whether you're willing to risk damaging the card, you might consider using a small set of pliers to pull it with. If you put it in backwards, it probably jammed before it was able to go too far in; you might ding the card guides, but shouldn't have done any functional damage. If there's a bent pin, some people have reported success in prying the pin straight with forceps, fine-nosed pliers, or a thin screwdriver blade. But you can break the pin off if you're not careful.
