These aren't the best photos, but I didn't get a second chance. It was in a awkward position with bad lighting, hence the motion blur. I have never seen anything like this before. These two cream-striped shinning-skinks (cryptoblepharus virgatus) were having a bit of a dispute. One seemed to be in control though, assering his authority.
EOS 300D + 28-80 + close-up filters.

The loser ended up with a few scars and the loss of a tail. The victor didn't wan't to be photgraphed and promplty dissappeared.

I've seen a few lizard scraps before but never seen one quite like that. Lucky his tail is dispensible! Nice catch.

Steve very nice shot here considering the conditions you speak of, I have never seen lizards fight although I knew they did it. The shots still do a nice job of portraying this behavior here. I wonder if the one that took off won the fight as most often species fight over territory and maybe this battle scarred one here was actually the winner ? :)

Thanks einsteinsauntie and Eric.

They both ran away , just that this one ran towards me, and then stopped (I assume he was out of breath or possibly injured a bit). While I was trying to get into a good position to get a photo I noticed the other one doing all of the biting.
I also think I have misidentified the lizard. It may be a Dark-flecked Garden Sunskink (Lampropholis delicata).
