View Full Version : cannot see thumbs in Exhibitions

Back again.

I have set up an exhibition called Vegas. I had FTP's files to the site at /gallery/exhibitions/vegas/ having three folders, thumbs microthumgs and medium, with respectively sized images in each one.

I checked my path in path editor several times they are accurate, when I go into the Exhibition editor, I see all the image names listed in the window but I cannot seem to get the page to generate thumbnails or microthumbs.

I checked the graphics modules installed. I have imagemagick - Active (tested and saw an image of a buck, source.jpg), I have G1 Active, EXIF External active and IPTC Active, GD2 also works but only one of the two can apparently be active at the same time. (All the above are tested with thest feature on the page)

In reading the EE 1.5 Users manual, it says that ImageK is needed when the PHP System is running in SAFE MODE, which mine is. I cannot find how to change that setting to NOT be running in safe mode, or if that would correct the problem.

Also, the "Open Photo Editor" is greyed out. Photo browser, It does not see any images either and I cannot seem to get the option "ALL" in the categories drop down.

Any assistance with these issues would be helpful.

Thank you

David Roth

If you like, PM me address to your editor folder (and username/pass) and I can set it up for you.

There will be no images in exhibition editor, until you have uploaded something on UPLOAD TO DATABASE page. "Open Photo Editor" is greyed out for same reason, there are no photos in exhibition.

Do you really want to do manual upload (for that you need to see http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30778 )? I ask because EE 1.5 will do it all for you: resize, move to correct folder, create folders, read exif etc.

For full automation, set EE up initially in this order:

ftp server(s)
graphics modules
resize methods
paths
exhibitions
