It's not a bad shot, not perfect but you do not see many people even try the smaller birds including shorebirds in-flight very often, this shows off some wing marking nicely here, and that lens is a very sharp lens you should be able to crop this about 50% and still have a nicely detailed image.

Thanks all for the comments. Leo, the bird is about 13.5" tall. This shot was taken at a good distance, and cropped a bit.
