Howdy all,
These are some IR shots converted to B&W that i took at the Mission San Luis Rey in Vista, Ca. These were taken with a modified Canon Rebel XTi with the equivalent of a Hoya R72 filter and the EF 17-40mm lens. C&C welcome and appreciated.

Wow, those are stunning... Have always wanted to play with IR but even the $50 filter is enough to put me off.

Great work. #2 is awesome. I so miss IR from my 35mm film days. Some day I'll covert a DSLR for this.

Beautiful shots, but yeah, the watermark kinda ruins them for me.

It's watermarked because there are thieves lurking the internet.

Super creepy!
I like the 2nd one best,. the subject on it's own in the 3rd one is less interesting for an IR shot.

Great work!

Watermarks are ridiculously easy to remove for those who are inclined. Anyone really worried about thieves should just avoid posting their photos on the internet altogether.

Appreciate the CC...the only reason i personally like that one is because of the blizzard like background...but i agree with you and prefer the other 2 more as well....

Again thanks all for the great comments! :D

I have a few more i may work and post...and i'll try to strip out the watermark :P

"those who are inclined" exactly those who know how, it's like locking your doors on your car, it's a deterrent.

Having been there to shoot, the mission is an amazing place. Also, the effect of "snow" is cool since the mission is just a few miles from the ocean and of course, it would never snow there. Great job!

Hauntingly stunning... Love the mood of them. Nice work.

The watermark is barely noticeable...

These are fantastic and #2 is espeically haunting. I feel as if I'm being beckoned into someplace I'm not really sure I want to go (yet...)

Again, love those shots. That Mission is popular for photo classes. One of our assignments there was to "freeze" that fountain in the cemetary courtyard. Beautiful locale.

Some of the best IR I have seen. I particularly love the statue and the tonality of it.

Good luck and I would be interrested in how IR is received.

Well...IR was received very well amongst the show goers...but no one purchased any of the prints. Of course all of the photographers wanted to know how i did it...and since im such a nice guy i let them know...

this bad economy is affecting everything...all of the other vendors i talked to said they didnt sell much....just a sign of the times i guess... :(

Good luck and I would be interrested in how IR is received.

Beautiful images...the last one has some incredible texture.
I didn't even notice the watermark until it was mentioned.
