Need some pointers please!

Ok so this is my first week with my DSLR and I need some constructive criticism please! Before moving up I shot with a S5 IS. This is a picture of my son who is 4 months old. My 2 y/o daughter was helping I guess you could say... Thank you for any advise, tips anything! I am a sponge, I want to learn!
