Using Zoombrowser for 18 months. Upgraded recently to 4.02. Dropping database a big plus, always getting into difficulty with that old database, hanging during restores, etc. By and large I like 4.02 better than 3.x as it allows you to view native files and not force you through database, but PROBLEM: Although thumbnails look fine, when "View Image", about 80% of time the files (through pop-up window) look corrupted, meaning typically right side of image (30%) colours are distorted and some of left side of image maps over. If I view same files through either Explorer, Netscape or Jpeg wizard all ok. Also, if I view file through Zoombrowser 4.02 on XP also looks fine. Makes me think problem with JPEG viewing files/library on Windows 98 SE w/ 4.02. Anyone else seen this ? Canon just tell you deinstall, reinstall etc. All tips welcome.

My recommendation is to switch to BreezeBrowser. This is a real upgrade. I used ZoomBrowser for a few years and finally got tired of the instability and database crashes.

When you have ZoomBrowser open, check your system resources. It sounds to me as if they are probably below 70%, and this will cause the situation that you're describing. ZB4.02 is a bit of a resource hog. Usually more RAM is the best solution (or closing some of your background programs); sometimes upgrading your video card is another solution. To test if resouces is the issue, click start-run-msconfig. Change your setting to selective startup and uncheck Load startup group items, click apply, ok, then restart. If it works fine after you restart, that means it's a ram problem. I hope this helps.

make sure you upgraded with two files as I don't have problems with win 98
You have to put a patch in first.
