Well I really like the new 10D. First off its is very much imprved over the D60. Finally the A/F works in low light!
I how ever do not like the feel of the new quick control dial in the back of the camera feels cheep over the D60's
dial. I like the camears build quality the body has a nice feel and the rubber backing is a bit larger than the D60.
I did order 2 canon 10D's form B&H and they are bowth good with now factory flaws. The price is on the money and the performance is top notch. Great job canon! The
Price for 2 10D camears and 3 yrear warrentys on each cameara with shipping from B&H was only $3,169.80 not bad at all as I paid $2,199.00 for only 1 D60 with now warranty. The price is on the way down for digital SLR camears. Canon is now the leader in this price point. I would like to see the next cameara to have a full frame CMOS chip. Other than that the 10D will have a long life with me in my camera bag. My 2 D60's are on the way to canon CPS for some cleaning and a general check up and then off to ebay. I will not miss them at all. So any one who is waiting of your 10D its worth the wait you will be very happy you did. By the way I had placed my order with RITZ camera and when they gave me the run around I canceled my order with them and placed my order with B&H in New York and got the new 10's in less than 10 days. I place the order on 3/17/03 and got it on 3/25/03. Ritz still has no cameras to sell but keeps taking orders and lieing on ship times. I never order from ritz and now I know why. Good luck and have a great day.

I have bought from B&H and they do provide great service....
Never bought from Ritz but from reading from all the other post around here I would think that idea is in the toilet...
thanks

Glad to hear that your first impressions are positive. I followed your lead and ordered a second camera from B&H, while still keeping one on order with Ecost. Ecost has treated me well with purchases of the more "consumer" sort, but they are not expecting to fill the order until April 11. I placed the order on March 9.
I placed the B&H order on March 19, so I'm hoping that I'm not too far behind you. They told me to expect 7-10 days, and I'm hoping they get their shipment in the next day or two. Just curious, did you spring for express shipping or did your "ten days" include a couple days in transit?
Also, your total cost with the warranties seems pretty reasonable. I'm used to just blowing off the suggestions of extended warranties when I buy from retailers, but I tend to trust B&H a bit more than some other sellers. Do you know what the cost of the warranty per camera was? Is the warranty through Canon, B&H or a third party (who would do the repairs)? Have you had any experiences making use of an extended warranty ?
I've gotten my patience a little more under control in the last week or two, but I still can't wait to hear that either one has been shipped....

I place my ecost order on March 10th. I called them Tuesday March 18th and they gave me the April 11 ship date - but to my surprise, the camera arrived Wednesday March 19th. You may want to give them a call.

Okay Brad, now you've gone and pissed me off.... ;-)
Just verified all of my order info. Ecost has my order "officially" dated as 3/9. It's still listed as back ordered. I called and they still have the expected ship date as April 11. The woman that took my call told me to have you pack the camera up and send on to me. They'll have yours to you during the second week of April. (She'll be kind enough not to bump you to the bottom of the list even though they've given you the pleasure of holding one.)
My luck will stay true to form and I'll have both shipped moments of each other and I won't have a chance to decide if I want two or if I'd rather cancel the late order. I'm sure someone would take it off my hands rather than pay the restock, but...
Either way, one of them should be in my hands soon enough.

Ok - but the earliest I can forward it to you is April 12th ;-)
I have no explanation as to why mine was shipped so soon. Just my lucky day I guess.

No I never go for the Fedex express shipping. I just usually get the standard Fedex saver and I get it in 3 - to 4 days. I did not want to spend any extra as the box was larger with two 10D inside with shipping. But I just love B&H they are always very honest and are professional. So far so good with the 10D's they will get a work out this week I have 3 Weddings to see it is a true performer. So far no problems noted.

Yes the Warrantys were $84.95 each for a total of $169.90 they are with MACK and are 3 Year Professional Digital Warrantys. They also have the Worldwide Coverage. I have other warrantys with mack and they are very good. They often send it in to canon for repairs and get it back fast. I have never had any problems and if I did I would call B&H and they would help out. So not to bad of a price.

Thanks for the info about the warranties. I think I might give B&H a call to see if I can add one to the order. I'm also glad to here that you didn't have it sent express. I went fed ex saver as well, and I'm trying to get an idea about what to expect.
Thanks.

Got mine today...(Sweden)
First impression is that the grip is somewhat small for my hand, but with the BG-ED3 on it became much better, i must say that the BG_ED3 is a "must have".
On the other hand, ot can be just me, since i gotten used to the grip on my 1N HS, wich is just marvelous. But im sure i will adapt quickly to the 10D.
I agree with Evangelos about the rear dial.. it feels a bit cheap.. It is also have a bit lower placement than my 1N, another thing to get used to.
But i am very pleased with the 10D, so far.
