Located high in the East Humboldt Range near Wells, NV, Angel Lake is appropriately named. You take the "Highway to Heaven" to get there.

Good pics, but the second pic's foreground is a little overexposed?

Why must you torment me with your photos??

If I hadn't lost my camera two days ago I'd be calling out sick for work and heading to Colorado again today.

Thanks to all for your comments, much appreciated.

Manny, I had not noticed the "hot rocks" in this shot, but you are right. I was fighting that all day in the brilliant sun, but still had to fix several shots. Bear in mind, I use a polarizer and still had overexposed rocks.

Dave, it's not meant to torment you, but to inspire you...to get that 20D ASAP and get back in the game.

Nice shots - Looks like a great location. Those 'hot rocks' can be tough to avoid in this kind of situation. You can usually take the edge off of them using Curves but I find the best way is to take two exposures and combine them (you probably already know this?).

I'm starting to dislike you Stan:rolleyes:. You bring back all the memories of the rockies with these great shots you have been posting. Great work.

Thanks Dan, Sheldon and digidog.

Sheldon, you should have asked me before moving to Montreal. Then again, think of all the owl shots you would have missed if you stayed in the Rockies.
