...and boy was it a lot of work, 2 babies in 1 day....whew! I'm not sure that I am cut out for this, I haven't uploaded the pics yet, but I don't really think I will have many keepers. Babies were 2 and 3 weeks and did not want to sleep, but I did the best I could....that counts for something right? :-|

lol I recently did my first newborn shoot as well and it was pretty challenging! They say to always do newborn shoots when the baby is no older then 10 days old so that they will sleep deeper and are easier to pose. I found this to be very accurate! I did my first shoot on a 10 day old and she was a dream, I went back the next week when she was 16 days old and it was a lot harder. I did find that a portable heater was a must, she wouldn't sleep at all until we turned it on!

Newborn photography is 10% photography skills and 90% baby whisperer skills. :) They are tough and require an amazing amount of time and patience. I usually tell the moms that I am there for the long haul, lol. I like to warm my beanbag up before I lay them down, and I've found that white noise is my friend. I actually have an app for that on my ipod, lol, and it works great. Don't give up yet, maybe just stay away from more than one of those in a day. :)

Oh how do you warm up your bean bag?

And love the white noise idea!

I have an ipod, what app do you use? Do you use the internal speakers on the ipod, or do you dock it on something? And yeah, I don't think I'll be doing 2 in one day again, it was exhausting!

I stick a rice bag into their microwave for about 4 minutes then set it where I ultimately want to lay the baby. It warms the spot up quickly without making it too hot (my fear for using heating pads).
