Hello G3 Fans! I decided to take the plunge and see what other photographers thought of a picture I took.
I enjoy "Show and Tell" and I want advice to improve my skills. Remember that Bad outing I had with my toy tripod. I finally picked up the tripod and held it sideways to take this picture . Not using the remote and using the Single focus mode *LOL* I knocked down the resolution quite a bit....not know how large of a file I could upload @ the site.

I posted a comment for you on the 'Sig, but did you know that there's a critique board right here on this forum as well? No annoying thumbs to worry about...

Ohio does indeed have some surprising architecture; castles, victorians, prarie-style, tire plants (oops - ignore that one. Had to give you a dig from a former Michigander. )

;-)

Cheers,

Wouldn't holding the tripod sideways completely defeat the purpose of the tripod? Not that the pictures sideways (which is what you wanted) but you're holding the tripod and shaking the tripod which is holding and shaking the camera, you could have just held the camera by hand if you were gonna hold the tripod. Unless you propped the tripod on a rock or something that wasn't moving but then the tripod would wobble since it's on it's side and not resting on it's 3 feet. Also, doesn't your tripod's head flip up so you can take pictures like that? Any cheap tripods that I know can do that. It's a nice picture by the way, I just don't understand holding the tripod.
