It has to be a good sign, don't you think, that I was able to collect my 10D on my birthday. :)

Picked it up from Park Cameras whose entire staff seemed to be engaged in despatching 10D's - Canon are certainly stimulating one part of the economy.

I haven't even turned it on yet: I'm being very disciplined and organised to make sure I get maximum enjoyment. :) Who said "anal retentive"? :D

I shall take the manual to bed with me tonight and memorise it. And I've started to keep a blog on the site.

Regards,

Roger

Happy Birthday

I lived on my own for about 10 years before i got married again and remember going to bed with a new camera and the manual, i woke up next morning and the camera was on the pillow beside me(I slept in a double bed) but at least it didn`t nag me:-) Sad or what! You start to worry when you put your arm around it! !

BTW That 135 is bloody sharp.

Further on! I read on another forum tonight that using 50iso on the 1Ds would lower the tonal range, what do you reckon?

Isn't "anal retentive" supposed to be hyphenated?

Happy B-Day!!! Very nice gift to your self. You must have been a very good boy. Enjoy the camera is really imporved over the D60. I did get my 2 new 10D's on Tuesday and love them. How ever I have not taken the manual to bed yet So far my D30 and D60 experience has helpd me out and I have had no need to. I will give it a look over for one or two things. But so far it is a very easy camera to use. Good luck Birthday Boy and enjoy your new toy.

A very happy birthday, Roger!

I downloaded the manual, printed it and took that to bed with me. And I haven't even ordered the 10D yet. My D30 is looking distinctly nervous.

With all the rave reports you'll be able to take shots under the sheets with no flash. Or should I say gun. Nice present. I hope she's pleased......
